Dim sum is a range of small Chinese dishes traditionally enjoyed for brunch. These dishes are mostly associated with Cantonese cuisine, but can be found in other Chinese cuisines as well. The tradition began in the tenth century when travelers visited teahouses for small meals and tea, known as “yum cha.” This included two concepts: “jat zung loeng gin” meaning “one cup, two pieces,” and dim sum, referring to the small food items served with tea that are meant to “touch the heart.”

In New York, dim sum can easily be found in New York City (Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn) and a few places offering dim sum can be found on Long Island. One of those Chinese restaurants is…FORTUNE WHEEL located in Levittown, New York.
