There are TWO child actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe who have successfully transitioned into adulthood as established stars. Among them are Jenna Ortega, who made a brief appearance in Iron Man 3 alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Ty Simpkins, and Jack Champion, who had a small speaking role in Avengers Endgame. Maturity and poise as young adults have played a part in the success of these two actors, but for now, let’s focus on Jenna Ortega.
Please keep in mind that this is just an opinion. What sets Jenna Ortega apart from other young Hollywood actors is her remarkable level of maturity. While others her age may still act like they’re in high school by posting middle-fingered selfies on Instagram or booty bops on TikTok, Jenna exudes elegance and poise at only 21 years old. Of course, her talent speaks for itself as well.
Despite her young age, Jenna Ortega has achieved great success. She first gained attention for her role in Disney Channel’s Stuck in the Middle and then rose to even greater popularity with her hit show on Netflix, Wednesday. In addition to acting in several TV series, she has also provided voices for animated projects and starred in multiple films. And her list of accomplishments continues to grow.
In a Vanity Fair article, Ortega stated, “…Everybody wants to be politically correct, but I feel like, in doing that, we lost a lot of our humanity and integrity because it lacks honesty … I wish that we had a better sense of conversation. Imagine if everyone could say what they felt and not be judged for it and, if anything, it sparked some sort of debate, not an argument.” She then quipped, “Am I describing world peace?”
Her words have been used by both ends of the spectrum to justify their beliefs. It appears that those with extreme views manipulate Ortega’s statement to align with their own agendas and messaging.
