On September 14th,2024,there was a race throughout Flushing Meadow Corona Park.
The Planet NY Half Marathon
Runners started at Kennedy Circle, right in front of the iconic Fountain of the Continents and the famous Unisphere. The race continued down Avenue of Africa, across United Nations Avenue, and onto Avenue of Asia before reaching the Path of Peace and Meadow Lake Bridge. They continued on to Avenue of Americas and Path of Commerce, passing by the magnificent fountain filled with planets and then turning on Herbert Hoover Promenade.
The half marathon consists of four loops on a 3.27 mile course.
The 10K is two loops on a 3.1 mile course.
The 5K is one loop on a 3.1 mile course.
At the end of the race, runners enjoyed swag from the “Sustainable Village”. The sustainable village was also open to the public promoting environmentally friendly products and sharing ideas for sustainability.
