Joker: Folie à Deux is the sequel to the Joker with Joaquin Phoenix back as our clown prince of crime. This movie went a totally different direction from the first. There is still the psychological drama with Arthur but with musical numbers, why you may ask??? I don’t even know. 

Joaquin Phoenix delivers another intense performance as Arthur Fleck, now institutionalized in Arkham Asylum,  Lady Gaga shines as Harley Quinn, particularly in the musical sequences. The chemistry between the two was great, and we had the gritty, bleak tone of Gotham City. Honestly the musical numbers was overkill in my opinion. The first Joker movie was great, I was hoping for more in the sequel and to really deep dive on Arthur and his scars, instead the movie that should have had so much to offer just falls flat. Joker: Folie à Deux is now playing in theaters.
