January 30, 2025 to February 2, 2025, the ESWG (Empire State Winter Games) takes place. Lake Placid transforms into a winter wonderland, with sparkling snow and icy lakes setting the stage for this grand event. Athletes from all over New York State gather to compete in various winter sports, from ice skating to downhill skiing.

Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony will take place today, January 30 at 6:30PM.

Athlete Village

The 2025 Athlete Village will be located in the Main Municipal Lot on Main Street, next to the Olympic Center. Join us for hot chocolate, s’mores, a variety of sport activities, athlete interviews, a photo booth and more! 

Friday, January 31, from 4-7 pm

Saturday, February 1, from 12-7 pm

ALSO taking place in Lake Placid is the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival from January 31, 2025 to February 9, 2025

There will be music, fireworks and folks dressed in costumes for this year’s theme, “MUSIC LEGENDS”.

AND the very best thing about this carnival is visiting a palace made of ice. Visiting the ICE PALACE is an amazing experience.
