Governors Island Arts is hosting the fourth annual Governors Island Ice Sculpture Show on February 8, 2025. During this free public event, ten artists will collaborate with professional ice carvers from Okamoto Studio.

Visitors can watch the live ice carving from 12 to 2 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony and ice sculpture installation from 2 to 3 p.m., which includes the audience-voted “People’s Choice” award. The event will also feature ice carving workshops by Okamoto Studio, crafts from the Red Hook Art Project, live music by the disco-infused Afrofuturist funk duo The Illustrious Blacks, and a special performance by Fogo Azul. Makina Café will be open on Colonels Row, accompanied by additional food trucks, including Nao Caribbean Flavors, The Original Soupman, and Deploy Coffee, all curated by Four Wheel Feasts.
