The 46th Annual Thunderbird American Indian Powwow at Queens County Farm Museum in New York is a three-day celebration of American Indian culture featuring intertribal dance competitions, authentic Native American crafts, art, jewelry, and food (like fry bread). Over 40 Indian Nations participate, showcasing traditions through music, dance, and cultural events like the Grand Entry and a sunset bonfire (weather permitting). It’s hosted by the Thunderbird American Indian Dancers, New York’s oldest resident Native American dance company, founded in 1963.

• Friday, July 25: Gates open at 5 PM, performances 6–10 PM
• Saturday, July 26: Gates open at 10 AM, performances 12–5 PM and 7–10 PM, Grand Entry at 12 PM and 7 PM
• Sunday, July 27: Gates open at 10 AM, performances 12–5 PM, Grand Entry at 12 PM

• Tickets: $12–$18 (3-day passes $24–$36) *Advance purchase recommended due to limited capacity.
• Proceeds support the Thunderbird American Indian Dancers Scholarship Fund and Queens Farm Museum Education Program.
• Features: Dance contests (e.g., Men’s Traditional, Women’s Jingle, Tiny Tots), Gourd Dancing at noon on Saturday and Sunday, Native American food and craft vendors, hayrides ($6/person), and a bonfire on Friday/Saturday nights (8–9 PM, weather permitting).
• Accessibility: Free parking, accessible grounds/restrooms, limited straw bale seating (bring portable seating). Strollers, backpacks, and bottled water allowed. No ATM on-site; vendor payment methods vary.
