Freeport’s Nautical Mile of Lights Annual Boat Parade 2025 – Freeport, New York (ON Long Island), hosts this festive holiday tradition along its iconic Nautical Mile—a vibrant waterfront stretch known for seafood restaurants, marinas, and boating culture. The event kicks off with their annual TREE LIGHTING. Afterwards, the evening will feature elaborately decorated boats parading through the canals, illuminated with holiday lights, while homes and yards along the route glow with decorations. It’s a family-friendly spectacle that draws locals and visitors to celebrate the season with nautical flair.
What to Know for the TREE LIGHTING:
- Date and Time: Saturday, December 06, 2025 Starts at 6:00pm – Tree lights up at 6:30pm
- Cost: FREE
- Where: The Freeport Recreation Front Lawn Tree (The Esplanade on Woodcleft Avenue Adjacent to “Off the Hook” 195 Woodcleft Avenue)

What To Know for the BOAT PARADE:
- Date and Time: Saturday, December 06, 2025, 6:45pm to 8:45pm (We recommend getting there earlier to secure a good viewing spot)
- Location: Starts along Woodcleft Canal, proceeds toward Waterfront Park, down Randall Bay Canal, and back.
- VIEWING: Line up along the Nautical Mile for prime views. Viewing spots include the Nautical Mile restaurants (If you make reservations and will be dining/Call and ask about parade view) or a waterfront vantage point.
- Duration: Approximately 1-2 hours, weather permitting (typical for Long Island’s winter—dress warmly!).
- Cost: Free to watch. Boat rides available for a fee (see below).
