Power Outage Preparation – this information is from 2018 but still relevant.

Have matches and candles!

Our suggestions: Important things are water, heat and lighting.

Stay warm – use a Mr.Buddy propane powered heater and have windows cracked open for proper ventilation. Claypot candle heaters are realistically useless, but if that’s all you have, a candle(s) can go a long way. Dress like you’re going outside, blankets, use rags or towels to cover door/window gaps, cracks and crevices. Try to stay in a small room and if you have a tent:have a camp out inside your home.

Lighting – flashlights, glow sticks and candles. Caution and supervision needed for candles to prevent fires.

Have 3 days worth of water per person (six 12 ounce bottles a day, total 216 ounces)

Emergency radio for news and information or fully charge your phone before inclement conditions.

Baby wipes for cleanliness.

Ready to eat food or snacks.
