The weather is getting better and before you know, free concert season is here. Here are a few upcoming FREE or low-cost classical music concerts in New York City:

  • New York Philharmonic Free Concert at Cathedral of St. John the Divine (Manhattan) May 13, 2026 (time TBA, ~1 hour 15 minutes, no intermission).   • Bryant Park Picnic Performances (Midtown Manhattan, free outdoor series presented with Carnegie Hall Citywide) Carnegie Hall Citywide events run Fridays in summer 2026 (starting late May). Relevant symphonic/classical-leaning ones include:
    • Friday, July 3, 2026, 7–8:15 PM: The Knights (chamber orchestra) – program fusing classical with American influences, led by Colin and Eric Jacobsen.
